GASTROENTEROLOGIST

Dr. Shrihari Anikhindi is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist working in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He completed his initial training including graduation (MBBS) and post-graduation (MD in General Medicine) from Maharashtra and has had rich work experience working in leading medical colleges like Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai and BJ Medical College, Pune. 

Serving for a significant period in rural countryside has helped his professional demeanor to be extremely compassionate and empathetic towards his patients.

Subsequently, Dr. Shrihari completed his rigorous training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has the coveted distinction of being the oldest, biggest and the best Institute for DNB training program in India. It is here that he developed a passion for Gastroenterology after which it has been a journey dotted with several accomplishments. During his stint of Superspeciality residency he won many laurels including standing 2nd in the entire North Zone and being adjudged as the best Speaker at the National Level in the coveted Torrent Young Scholar Award. He has also presented several of his pioneering papers in the field of Gastroenterology at reputed national and international conferences.

He has been credited with establishing the GI motility laboratory at Sir Ganga Ram which now has state of the art facilities for diagnosis and management of various gastrointestinal motility and functional disorders including refractory constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, esophageal motility disorders, irritable bowel syndrome etc. Due to his pioneering expertise, the GI motility laboratory at Sir Ganga Ram is now the major referral center for diagnosis and management of GI motility disorders. He is a sought-after speaker at various forums on issues related to GI motility.

Apart from this, he hones a passion for Endoscopy and is adept at various diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The Endoscopy unit at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has been providing cutting edge services for several decades now and is continuing to make leaps and strides in providing effective patient care. In addition to routine gastroduodenoscopy (upper gastrointestinal endoscopy) and colonoscopy, advanced facilities like Endoscopic Ultrasound, Spy Glass Cholangioscopy, Double Balloon Enteroscopy and Capsule Endoscopy are all available under one roof.
